Legendary LA-based Pink Taco opens its doors in Times Square

Pink Taco has gone big in the Big Apple.

The Los Angeles-based restaurant company known for its music-filled party vibe as much as for its Mexican-inspired fare has opened a 10,519-sq.-ft. outpost at 7 Times Square in Manhattan.The location has seating for 300 across two floors.

The restaurant design combines rustic and industrial accents, with reclaimed barn wood alongside custom neon signs that bring Pink Taco's signature vibrant color palette alive.  Colorful murals painted by Jason Ackerman of Soho Ink are placed throughout the space showcasing various traditional Mexican themes.

Upon entering the expansive bar, customers are greeted by lighting that hits a skull-shaped disco ball, setting the party atmosphere before guests reach the dining area. A state-of-the-art sound system and a rotation of DJs will keep the non-stop party feel going throughout the week and late into the night with the restaurant having a nightly 2 a.m.last call.

On the second floor, another bar offers high-top and cocktail seating. A private dining room is set off on the side, closed off with sliding doors. 

The company was founded in 1999 by the late Harry Morton, part of a restaurant family. His father was Hard Rock Café co-founder, Peter Morton, and his grandfather was Arnie Morton, founder of Morton's Restaurant Group.

First established at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the Pink Taco brand has since expanded with restaurants in Los AngelesBostonWashington D.C., and Miami Beach.
